Summer Isn’t Over Yet!

☀️ Summer Isn’t Over Yet!

It’s hard to believe we’re already nearing the end of July!

Thankfully, there’s still plenty happening at the pool through the rest of the season.

A special welcome to our Late Season Members, who can begin enjoying the pool starting July 20! We’ve included a few Tips & Tricks below to help you get the most out of the rest of the summer.

Stay cool, stay safe, and here’s hoping for great weather this week (and a little less smoke)!

🎉 Highlights This Month

🦆 Raft Night & First-Ever Duck Derby!

A reminder that Saturday, July 25 is our ever-popular Raft Night, beginning at 6:00 PM.

Right before Raft Night, we’ll be hosting our first-ever Duck Derby!

Please note the new start time at 4:30PM.

Members of all ages are encouraged to buy a duck and see if it has what it takes to win…or will it quack under pressure?

♻️ Recycling

We receive a lot of questions about recycling at the pool.

Unfortunately, the company that provides our waste service does not offer a recycling option that meets the pool’s needs.

If you’d like to recycle, we encourage you to take your recyclables home and place them in your curbside recycling bin.

Thank you for helping reduce waste whenever possible!

🏊 Swim Team

It’s the last week of swim team practice!

Practices this week will take place Monday–Thursday8:30–9:45 AM.

A huge thank you to all of our coaches, volunteers, and swim parents who help make every swim season such a success.

🤿 Dive Team

Congratulations to the Dive Team on winning its Division Meet!

And best of luck to all of our divers competing at All Stars!

📣 Friendly Reminders

🏊 Tips & Tricks

Lap Lane Etiquette: Sharing Is Caring

Lap lanes are a shared community treasure—please help keep them swimmer-friendly.

  • All lap swimmers, including Early Bird swimmers, must share lanes.

  • Two swimmers: Agree on a plan—either split the lane or circle swim.

  • Three or more swimmers: Circle swimming is required.

  • Private swim lessons may use an available lap lane, but lap swimmers have priority and may politely request that lessons move to open water.

🏁 A little kindness and communication at the wall goes a long way!

🚚 Food Trucks

🍖 MGM Roast Beef

Saturday, July 25 • 4:00 PM–8:00 PM

MGM Roast Beef is coming to the Bannockburn Pool parking lot (6513 Laverock Lane, Bethesda) on Saturday, July 25th!

MGM is a D.C. based restaurant and food truck that prides itself on amazing meats and sandwiches. According to their website, “MGM Roast Beef is the sandwich shop in D.C. that offers the area’s freshest and most flavorful roasted, hand-carved meats. Founded on the concept that good food comes in all forms, we’ve built our business on the gourmet sandwich — the kind you can’t find just anywhere — and have stuck to that foundation since opening in 2008.”

Come by for some amazing sandwiches, salads, and platters!
